Ο Κρασανάκης Αδαμάντιος (Μάκης) του Γεωργίου γεννήθηκε και μεγάλωσε στο χωριό Άγιος Γεώργιος του Οροπεδίου Λασιθίου Κρήτης (εγγονός του καπετάν Αδάμη Κρασανακη – Κρασαναδάμη, Μάχη Κρήτης και Εθνική Αντίσταση Κρήτης 1941 – 1944) όπου έμαθε και τα πρώτα του γράμματα: Δημοτικό, Γυμνάσιο και Λύκειο.
Αποφοίτησε οικονομολόγος από το Οικονομικό Πανεπιστήμιο Πειραιά/Τμήμα Οικονομικό και μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές έκανε στο: Εθνικό Κέντρο Δημόσιας Διοίκησης/ Ινστιτούτο Επιμόρφωσης σε θέματα διοίκησης, Υπουργείο Συντονισμού / Διεύθυνση Κοινωνικών Θεμάτων σε θέματα Ευρωπαϊκών Κοινοτήτων, Κέντρο Πανεπιστημιακών Σπουδών (Δήμου Αθηναίων/ Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών) σε θέματα γλώσσας για υπαλλήλους Πτυχιούχους Ανωτάτων Σχολών του Ελληνικού Δημοσίου. Είναι παντρεμένος με την κ. Αθανασίου Σπυριδούλα, καθηγήτρια φιλόλογο Δ/εκπαίδευσης και εργάζεται στο Υπουργείο Πολιτισμού και Τουρισμού ως Διευθυντής στη Διεύθυνση Επιθεώρησης, καθώς και στη Διευθυνση Πολιτικής Σχεδίασης Έκτακτης Ανάγκης.
